(b) Ordinarily an unmarried officer will not be

allowed a rent allowance as the sole tenant of a rented

tenement.

(o) Only one rent allowance is payable in respect

of any tenement.

IV. Lodging allowance.

An officer who, with the permission of the Colonial Secretary, does not reside in Goverment

quarters or in a tenement in respect of which a rent

allowance is payable, receives a lodging allowance

as follows:-

(a) If married, 15% of his salary subject to a

maximum of $100 a month.

(b) If unmarried 7% of his salary subject to

a maximum of $50 a month.
